Looking for the Best Harley Davidson Touring Seats - What Do You Recommend?

Seeking Advice on Harley Davidson Touring Seats

I’ve been riding my Harley for quite some time now, and while I love the ride, I constantly find myself looking for extra comfort on those longer journeys. I’ve been doing some research on touring seats specifically designed for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and wanted to gather opinions from those who have been in this position before me.

What to Consider When Choosing a Touring Seat

  • Comfort: This is the most important factor. I want something that can handle long distances without leaving me sore.
  • Style: I want a seat that enhances the overall look of my bike.
  • Durability: It’s crucial for me to pick something that can withstand the elements and wear over time.
  • Compatibility: I need to ensure that whatever seat I choose fits my Harley model seamlessly.

Options I’ve Been Considering

I’ve come across several brands and models but have narrowed down to a couple of options:

  1. Harley Davidson OEM Touring Seat: I’ve heard great things about the official seats but I’m curious if the price tag is justified.
  2. Saddlemen Profiler Seat: I’ve seen some good reviews, particularly about comfort for longer rides.
  3. Corbin Gunfighter Seat: I like the look of it, but how does it feel on long rides?

Questions for You All

  • What touring seat do you currently use, and how has it enhanced your riding experience?
  • Are there any particular aftermarket options worth considering?
  • Any tips on what I should avoid?

I really want to make an informed decision before I invest, so I would appreciate any feedback, experiences, or advice you can share. Thanks in advance for your help!

I highly recommend the Saddlemen Road Sofa seat. I’ve done long rides with it, and the cushioning really makes a difference in comfort over time.

I’ve heard great things about the Road Sofa too! Did you find it easy to install?

I didn’t have any issues with installation! Just a few bolts. The real benefit is the gel foam that helps with pressure points during long rides.

I prefer the Harley Davidson Tallboy seat. It gives me extra legroom, and I feel more in control. Anyone else try it?

Good call! The Tallboy is definitely a solid choice. It also has great lumbar support, which I think really matters on long rides.

I haven’t tried the Tallboy yet. How’s the padding on it compared to the stock seats?

The padding is notably better! I felt much less fatigue after long rides. Plus, it has an adjustable backrest for added comfort.

Don’t forget about the Mustang seats! They are known for their comfort and support. I’ve loved mine over hundreds of miles.

How do Mustang seats compare to the Saddlemen ones? I’m torn between the two!

I think functionality comes down to personal preference. Both are excellent, but the Saddlemen gave me a more custom feel.

I’ve been eyeing the Corbin seats. They look stylish and provide comfort. Anyone had any experience with those?

Corbin seats are definitely an upgrade! A little on the firm side at first, but they break in beautifully. They’re great for style and comfort!

That’s true! I love my Corbin seat, and the adjustability is fantastic for longer rides.

I’m also looking for touring seat recommendations. I’m particularly interested in the installation process and what tools are needed. Anyone have experience with the Road Glide models?

I installed a Mustang seat on my 2018 Road King. It fits perfectly and only required basic tools like a socket set and some patience!

When it comes to installing seats, always double-check the compatibility with your model year. Some years have slight differences that could require minor modifications.

That’s good to know, mark58! Did you have to remove anything else to get the Mustang seat on?

Honestly, the worst part of the install is dealing with those little plastic clips on the side. Just be careful not to break them as you pop them out!

Thanks for the heads up! Which specific models or years should I look out for?
