Anyone have issues with the harley middle finger kickstand?

Discussion on the Harley Middle Finger Kickstand

I’ve been looking into getting a kickstand that really represents my personality and style, and I came across the Harley middle finger kickstand. It’s definitely a unique piece that can add some flair to my bike, but I have a few questions before I make the jump into purchasing one.

Potential Issues:

  1. Stability: I’m curious about the stability it offers. Has anyone faced issues with it being less stable than a traditional kickstand?
  2. Durability: Given that it’s an aftermarket part, how has it held up over time? I want something that not only looks good but can withstand daily use without bending or breaking.
  3. Install: Is the installation process straightforward, or will I need professional help? I like to do things myself but don’t want to mess it up.
  4. Legal Concerns: Are there any legal issues with custom kickstands in certain states? I’d hate to have to remove it for inspections.

Customization Ideas:

I’m also interested in any modifications or upgrades that could complement the kickstand. If you have fitting recommendations for other parts or accessories, I’d love to hear about those too!

Conclusion:

I think it’s awesome to personalize our bikes, and while I’m excited about the middle finger kickstand, I want to ensure I’m making a good choice. If you have any experiences to share or general tips on custom parts, please drop a comment. Let’s help each other out!

Looking forward to the discussion!

I’ve noticed that the middle finger kickstand can be quite problematic, especially with spring failures. Has anyone else experienced that?

Absolutely! My spring snapped last week while I was parked. It can really compromise safety!

Never had a spring issue, but I find the kickstand feels a bit loose sometimes. I worry it might collapse unexpectedly.

I hear you on that. It’s frustrating when it doesn’t feel secure. Been there!

My main issue has been difficulty in deployment. I literally have to kick the thing sometimes; any tips on making it smoother?

Try lubricating the pivot point. It helped mine a lot!

I’ve had my kickstand replaced twice due to issues. It’s annoying; why can’t they make a better design?

Wow! That’s quite a hassle. It makes you wonder about their quality control.

I think we all can agree there’s room for improvement here. It should be reliable to deploy without worry.

Exactly, I mean it’s such a crucial part of safety on a bike!

Sometimes I wonder if it’s just me being clumsy with it. Do others find themselves struggling at times?

You’re definitely not alone! I had an embarrassing moment at a gas station with mine, haha!

To be honest, I think the kickstand’s design is just outdated. It needs a revamp.

I completely agree! A little modernization could go a long way.

I’ve learned to always double-check mine before parking. Better safe than sorry!

I’ve been having issues with the middle finger kickstand too. It feels a little too low for my bike. Has anyone figured out how to adjust the height?

You can try adding a spacer under it. I did that on mine and it’s been much more stable now!

I also had issues with mine not being tall enough for my style of riding. I used a longer bolt to raise it up a bit. Works great for me!
