Need Help Choosing NA Miata Side Mirrors!

Seeking Advice on NA Miata Side Mirrors

Hey fellow Miata enthusiasts!

I’m currently on the hunt for some new side mirrors for my NA Miata (1990-1997). I’ve been experiencing a few issues with visibility and the old mirrors are starting to show signs of wear and rust in the adjustment mechanisms. It’s been making driving a bit of a challenge, especially on those winding roads where every bit of visibility counts!

What I’m Looking For

I’m interested in hearing your suggestions about:

  • Aftermarket Options: Are there any specific brands or models that you recommend?
  • Replacement Parts: Where’s the best place to buy quality mirrors that fit the NA model?
  • Installation Tips: Any advice on how to properly install these mirrors without causing damage to my car?
  • Visibility Enhancements: If you’ve made modifications that improved visibility, I’d love to hear about those as well!

Experiences Shared

I’ve seen some posts about people having issues with visibility due to mirror size or shape. If you’ve tackled this issue before or made some upgrades, please share your experiences!

I’m looking forward to your insights and tips. Individual stories of success and the products that worked for you would really help me make an informed decision. Let’s discuss!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve been looking into aftermarket side mirrors for my NA Miata as well. From what I’ve read, the NB mirrors are a popular swap and fit quite nicely. Has anyone tried that?

I’ve got the NB mirrors on my NA, and they look great! Just make sure you get the adapter plates. It makes installation a breeze!

I’ve heard good things about the Flyin’ Miata mirrors as well. They offer a bit more visibility and have a stylish design. Anyone else have experience with those?

I actually went with the Flyin’ Miata mirrors and love them! The extra view is fantastic, and they don’t vibrate much at speed.

Don’t forget about the cheap eBay options! I’ve seen inspiring installs there, but quality varies– buyer beware! Has anyone had luck with those?

I’ve had a nightmare experience with eBay mirrors—they were flimsy and didn’t fit well at all. Stick with known brands if you can!

For those who enjoy DIY, how about adjusting the stock ones? I used adhesive mirrors over my originals for a unique look without the cost.

That sounds like a fun project! I’m tempted to try that just for the uniqueness. Anyone have tips for installation?

I’ve always preferred OEM-style mirrors for that classic look and feel. If you want to maintain that original aesthetic, maybe that’s worth considering.

Good point! The original look is hard to beat. Maybe I’ll stick with the classic vibe for my own project.

Just remember, it’s a Miata! Even if you choose a weird mirror option, it’ll still turn heads. What’s your budget like?

Good reminder! I’m looking to keep it under $200, but I want good quality. Any suggestions within that range?

I’ve seen plenty of nice mirrors under $200, especially from brands like Racing Beat and Rev9. Definitely quality choices!

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll check those out. Hoping to find the right mix of quality and style for my ride.

Hey everyone! I’m looking to upgrade my NA Miata side mirrors. Any tips on which mirrors are best for visibility and style?

Great question, evanspeter! I just installed some convex mirrors on mine, and they really improve visibility. You’ll need a Torx wrench and some patience for the install!

I’ve heard convex can help a lot! Any tips on avoiding pitfalls during installation, like breaking the clips?

Yes, rmarshall! When removing the old mirrors, carefully pry them off with a plastic trim tool to prevent breaking. It’ll save you from a disaster!

Thanks for the advice, ljuarez! What about tools? I’ll need a full list to get started.
