Looking for Windshield Options for My Triumph Bonneville T120

Seeking Feedback on Windscreens for the Triumph Bonneville T120

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the market for a windscreen for my Triumph Bonneville T120 and would love to get your insights and experiences. I’ve been doing some research but feel overwhelmed by the number of options available.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Comfort: I’d like to reduce wind fatigue on longer rides.
  • Compatibility: It needs to fit well with the styling of my T120.
  • Effectiveness: How well do different windscreens perform at higher speeds?

Options I’ve Considered:

  1. Triumph’s OEM Windscreen: I’ve heard mixed reviews. It’s a safe bet, but is it worth the price?
  2. National Cycle Windscreens: They seem popular among riders. Anyone have firsthand experience?
  3. Puig Screens: I’m intrigued by their design, but again, how do they fare in real-world conditions?

Questions:

  • Does anyone have comfort recommendations based on their riding style?
  • Any specific brands or models you’d endorse?
  • What about aftermarket solutions vs. OEM? Are there real benefits?

Looking forward to hearing your advice and recommendations! Thanks in advance for your help.

Happy riding!

I’ve been using a windscreen on my Bonneville T120 for the past year. It significantly improves stability at higher speeds, especially during long rides on the highway.

That’s great to hear! Which windscreen do you have? I’m worried about how it might affect the handling in the city.

I installed a beautiful, low-profile windscreen and noticed it doesn’t hinder handling much, even in tight corners. It definitely cuts wind resistance!

That’s interesting! Does the low-profile affect your visibility at all?

I’ve found the windscreen adds a bit of comfort on long rides, but it can create a bit more turbulence at speed. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the heads up, mpalmer! A little turbulence is fine as long as it doesn’t threaten stability or handling.

I’ve been considering a windscreen too, but I’ve read mixed reviews about vibration at high speeds. Anyone else notice this?

I haven’t experienced excessive vibration with mine. Maybe the type of windscreen affects this? What are you looking at?

I went with a mid-height model, and it’s been fantastic! No strange vibrations and improved comfort on long hauls. Can’t recommend it enough.

Sounds like a plan! Just remember, if the bike starts looking like a cruiser, it might be time to reconsider your stylistic choices! Ha!

I’m really digging the small café racer screens. They blend seamlessly with the Bonneville’s classic lines while providing just enough wind protection. Plus, they look super stylish!

I agree! The café racer screens enhance the sporty look without overshadowing the bike’s vintage aesthetic. Have you checked any brands?

I tried a larger touring windshield on mine, but it clashed with the design. It’s more functional, but it just doesn’t suit the Bonneville’s vibe. Stick to more subtle styles!

Totally agree with you there, @mcdonaldstephanie. A larger windshield can take away that classic appeal. What do you think about Pacifico’s offerings?

The ‘bikini’ windscreens are great too! They don’t block your view and look awesome when riding. Just enough to keep the air off your chest.

For daily commuting, a bikini screen is all I need. Not ideal for long trips, but for style and city riding? Perfect fit! Plus, it really highlights the bike’s curves.

I’ve seen those! They really are sleek. Do you feel they offer enough wind protection for longer rides?

A classic design bike needs a classic shield! Anything too modern can look tacky. I prefer something that harks back to the original Bonneville style.

Fair point, @paul54. I think the right choice sets off the bike’s character. Have you seen any custom-shaped windscreens?
