Looking for Used Harley Exhaust Systems – Any Recommendations?

I’ve been on the hunt for a used exhaust system for my Harley and I’m reaching out to see if anyone has leads or recommendations for places to check out. I’m specifically interested in options that enhance performance but also keep the classic vibe of my bike.

What I’m Looking For

  • Type of Exhaust: True dual exhaust or another aftermarket option
  • Price Range: Ideally, I’d like to stay under $500
  • Condition: Used is fine, but don’t want anything that’s too worn out or damaged

Where to Buy?

I’ve seen listings on eBay and some aftermarket motorcycle parts websites, but I’m wondering if there are local shops or forums where people sell parts. If you’ve purchased used exhaust systems before, what platforms did you find the best deals on?

Tips for Buying Used

If you’ve upgraded your Harley’s exhaust, what did you replace it with, and do you have any regrets? It might help narrow down my options if I see what others have loved or hated.

Thanks for your help, looking forward to your suggestions!

I’m a big fan of the Vance & Hines exhaust for my Harley. I noticed a significant improvement in horsepower and throttle response after I switched to a used system. Definitely worth the investment!

I had the same experience with my Dyna. The used Rinehart system I picked up gave my bike a noticeable boost in power and made the ride feel so much smoother!

It’s really interesting how a used exhaust can change your bike’s character. I’ve tried different systems, and each offered unique sound profiles and performance tweaks. What are your favorite sounds?

Totally agree! My son’s bike has a Bassani system, and it’s like a symphony on wheels. Anyone else notice throttle response get way better?

The difference a used exhaust makes is incredible. You might gain 5-10 horsepower easily, but the real magic is in the way the bike feels. Less restriction really helps out.

I’ve had different experiences though. I put a used system on, and while some aspects improved, I didn’t see a huge horsepower gain. Was it the exhaust or my bike’s setup?

Upgrading to a used exhaust can really enhance the overall riding experience! I upgraded to a Screamin’ Eagle system, and it feels like part of my bike. Just the roar of the engine makes me smile every ride.

Love the Screamin’ Eagle! I went for a used Dynojet setup, and it really kicks in when you hit the throttle. But, I wonder how many people can really feel the difference without a dyno test?

Honestly, I’m still searching for the right used exhaust for mine. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the quality of some brands. What should I prioritize when looking?

Prioritize sound and build quality, for sure. I’ve had my fair share of cheap used exhausts, and they just don’t perform as well in the long run.

I think it’s great that people are getting into used parts. You save money and can find some fantastic deals. I found a used Thunderheader that sounds amazing!

That’s the spirit! Just be careful about fitment and wear. Sometimes the best finds come with unexpected hassles.

I recently bought a used exhaust system, and I swear it feels like my bike is just begging for the open road now! Anyone else feel like their bike has its personality changed?

For sure! I had a friend who bought a used exhaust, and suddenly he couldn’t get enough of riding. Exhaust really makes a difference in enthusiasm!

The debate on used exhaust systems is always lively! Some say they improve performance while others argue they can diminish it. What do you think is the sweet spot for upgrading?

Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a used Harley exhaust system. I’m particularly interested in sound profiles—what do you recommend?

You can’t go wrong with Vance & Hines. They offer a deep, throaty growl that really complements the classic Harley aesthetic. Plus, it’s loud enough to get noticed without being obnoxious!

I recently installed a Screamin’ Eagle exhaust. It’s powerful and gives my bike a mean roar, perfect for cruising! Anyone else have experience with that brand?

Screamin’ Eagle is great! I love the way it sounds on the road. Just make sure you have earplugs, it can get pretty loud!
