I think a lot of it comes down to the driving style. How aggressive are you when shifting?
I’ve had a few shifting problems, but mainly attributed to a worn-out shift lever. Replacing it with an aftermarket short shifter improved both feel and precision big time!

Be cautious with fluids. I initially used a different brand and ended up with a sticky shifter. Red Line MT-90 has worked best for me after switching.
What about those clutch squeaking sounds? Mine makes a noise sometimes; is it a sign of wear or a simple lubrication issue?
A little squeaking could be just a lack of grease on the pivot points. If it gets worse, it could be something more serious. Check it out before it turns into a problem!
Biggest issue I faced was some vibes during acceleration. A prop shaft donut fix took care of that. It’s a common concern, don’t let it deter you!

I personally had no problems with my swap, but I know quite a few have reported a clunky feel. Regular fluid changes seem to help with that.
Did anyone get the TR-6060 6-speed? Noisy but has mad power. Worth the trade?
I’ve heard mixed things about it. Some love it, some hate it. You might want to think it through!
For maintenance, I change my transmission fluid every 30k miles. It’s a bit much, but I want to avoid problems later on. Totally worth it in the long run!

I’ve swapped a 6-speed from a 2005 Mazda 3 into my 1999 Miata. You’ll need custom mounts, and don’t forget about the drive shaft alignment! Took me a weekend, but it was worth it for better acceleration.

Definitely check the shift linkages. You might need to modify them a bit for a smoother transition. I love how snappy my shifts are now!

I achieve a good balance! At 70 mph, my RPMs are quite reasonable, which is great for fuel consumption. The 6-speed spreads the power nicely.
